Manchester City Football Club (MCFC) is breaking new ground with the introduction of “Cityecademy” an initiative described on the MCFC website as “a free resource for any budding footballer to get quality coaching from Academy coaches" (2010).

Cityecademy offers young footballers from around the world the opportunity to train virtually with the MCFC Youth Academy (Young 2010) and in the process gives them the chance to impress Man City coaches by uploading videos to the site as part of a competition which starts in November this year.
